Recherche Chercheur Post-Doctoral
Our new research team at the Institute of Neurodegenerative diseases at the University of Bordeaux recruits a post-doctoral researcher. The lab aims to understand cellular mechanisms of neuron-oligodendrocyte interaction during development, adulthood and their subsequent alteration in neurodegenerative disease. Using acute slices, we apply a combination of state-of-the-art physiology (whole-cell patch clamp) and functional imaging approaches, complemented by genetic manipulation, molecular biology methods and behavioural analysis. The research interest of the group builds on previous work of the Team Leader; see: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.celrep.2018.12.039 or https://doi.org/10.1038/ncomms11298 and is further exploring the pathophysiology of neuron-oligodendrocyte interaction.
We are looking for a post-doctoral candidate with less than two years after obtaining their PhD that has a background in bioinformatics ideally in combination with neuroscience or wet-lab experience. Applicants with other specialization (physics, bioengineering or neuroscience) possessing scientific curiosity that goes beyond their current research are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate is highly motivated and has experience in single cell expression analysis and is willing to learn experimental neuroscience. Experience in python or matlab programming, data analysis and good presentation skills are expected. The post-doc will participate in shaping a challenging project and contribute to the research output of the lab in forms of collaborations, presentations and publications. The day-to-day language of the lab is English.
The University of Bordeaux with the newly formed Neurocampus project constitutes an exciting international and stimulating environment with worldwide recognition.
The post-doc position is for a duration of 2 years with starting date as soon as possible. The position is advertised until filled. After a pre-selection process, we will conduct skype interviews with potential candidates. Please send your application package in a single pdf including motivation letter, CV, list of publications and names of 2 to 3 referees.
Applications should be send by email to Dr Arne Battefeld:
